Dr. Isaac Antwi is a Research Scientist with expertise in the area of Medicinal Chemistry and Drug Discovery. With over 7 years of experience in Chemistry, Dr. Antwi has developed novel small molecule compounds and complex natural with antimicrobial properties. The findings from Dr. Antwi’s research has the potential to address the growing global concern of antimicrobial resistance.
Dr. Antwi holds a Doctorate degree in Chemistry from University of Alberta, Canada and a postdoctoral fellowship from Yale University, USA. His research interests include organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, natural product synthesis, small molecules drug discovery, lipids and lipid nanotechnology and antimicrobial resistance. He has published in high impact journals, presented my findings at international conferences. Dr. Antwi is committed to nurturing the next generation of African scientists in the Life Sciences through his non-profit organization, Africa Life Sciences Network and Career Enhancement Forum that has over the years provided mentorship to underrepresented minorities in STEM.
