Samira was born and raised in Accra, Ghana, where she earned a BSc. in Chemistry from the University of Cape Coast with a research concentration in analyzing the physicochemical properties of West African crude oil. Inspired by a global transformation, she proceeded to North Carolina A&T State University, where she earned an MSc. in Chemistry (Nanoscience). She is pursuing her Ph.D. at New YorkUniversity, with a research focus on customizing colloidal particles for advanced functional materials with applications in electronics and chemical industries. In addition to her scientific work, Samira actively engages in community service initiatives, from STEM outreaches for K-12 students to curating valuable educational resources for students worldwide, especially those of African descent.
